About
20. UCLA. Economics student. Obsessive viewer.
My name is Aaron Bollinger. I'm 20 years old, studying economics at UCLA, and I work in insurance. None of that has anything to do with this. The Binge Bear exists because I've loved film my entire life and eventually got tired of keeping my opinions to myself.
I have no credentials here. No film degree, no critical theory background, no professional reason to be doing this. As a kid I was always the one writing things down, making lists, arguing about what was good and what wasn't. That never went away. This is just what that looks like now.
A genuine passion, nothing more
This isn't a career pivot or a side hustle with a five-year plan. It's something I do because I love it — because film is one of the few things that has stayed consistent through every phase of my life. I watch a lot, I think about what I watch, and I write it down. That's the whole thing.
My degree has nothing to do with this. My job has nothing to do with this. And honestly I think that's part of what makes it worth reading — there's no angle, no agenda, no one to impress.
Some other things
I travel whenever I can. I've been all over Europe and it's genuinely one of my favorite things in the world — the food, the pace, the way different places make you see things differently. I think that bleeds into how I watch films too. You notice more when you've been somewhere that makes you pay attention.
Why read this
Honestly, you don't have to. But if you want a take from someone who has no professional stake in the outcome, watches obsessively, and will just tell you plainly whether something is worth your time — I think we'll get along.
